1. How and when you first met Harry Roseman
– I first met Harry at the Walker Art Center, in Spring 2009. He was there with Cathy, who was in the exhibition The Quick and the Dead, for which I’d been curatorial assistant and written for the catalog. I’d written about Cathy’s work, and so we met through her at a brunch following the opening. We then saw each other at the Rachel Harrison opening at Bard that summer.
2. A statement about your work and/or a brief autobiographical statement.
– Dan Byers is Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Prior to the CMA, he was Curatorial Fellow at the Walker Art Center and Assistant to the Directors at the Fabric Workshop and Museum. He has an MA from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, and a BS in Studio Art from Skidmore College.
